In our January edition of On your radar we look ahead, as usual, to key international employment law developments expected over the coming year, making this an essential read for those dealing with multiple jurisdictions. Alongside regular developments such as updates to applicable financial rates and limits, highlights include:

Many EU countries reporting on national measures as the EU Pay Transparency Directive’s June transposition deadline approaches.
 
• Evolution of working time and recording rules. While the final text is still pending, Spain is planning a mandatory digital time-recording system, and Germany discusses proposals to introduce mandatory electronic recording of working hours.
 
• Hong Kong and Brazil reviewing new measures relating to platform workers’ rights. Several EU countries also discuss the EU Directive on Platform Work, which must be implemented by December 2026.
 
• Increases in statutory rates and limits, including minimum wage changes in Mexico, Chile, Turkey, Croatia and Poland.
 
• National governments continuing to push ahead with digitalisation. Serbia reports on a new e-sick leave portal, and the Czech Republic discusses the introduction of a single monthly employer report, which will affect employers from April this year.
 
• The UK entry summarises key aspects of the groundbreaking Employment Rights Act 2025, which is set to reshape employment law and industrial relations over the next two years.
