This Quick view sets out a reminder to firms that from 8 October 2023 all firms marketing cryptoassets to UK consumers (including firms based overseas) must comply with the financial promotion regime.The financial promotion regime applies to all financial promotions which are capable of having an effect in the UK. This applies even if the promotion is not solely targeted at UK customers, meaning that cryptoasset firms (including overseas firms) with retail customers will need to determine if their promotions are in scope.
