Where can blockchain technology take us in the future? Certainly, the possibilities seem limitless — not only for cryptocurrency, but also since such a powerful new data network has the potential to revolutionise our world in all sorts of innovative ways.

This is what we’ll be discussing in Cardiff on the 4th of October, as UDL IP hosts an evening with nChain CEO, Jimmy Nguyen and Chief Scientist, Dr. Craig Wright, (register here) who has been involved with Bitcoin since the beginning. nChain Limited is a global leader in the research and development of blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies, and an ardent advocate of Bitcoin Cash (BCH). In early 2018, ‘The Bitcoin Patent Report’ named nChain as the world's largest filer of patent applications related to blockchain technologies — and we at UDL are very proud to support nChain's patent portfolio.

To mark nChain’s visit to Wales, we wanted to do something special. So, we’ve translated the original 2008 Satoshi Nakamoto white paper, ‘Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System’ into Welsh — we think you’ll agree that this paper is truly groundbreaking in any language!

You can download the Welsh translation of the white paper here.

If you’d like to join us in October, the event will be held at Cardiff’s luxurious The Exchange Hotel, where the price of coal was once set and the first ever £1 million cheque was signed — a fitting venue for an event about economic and technological transformation.

And, after costs, all proceeds from the event will go to our charity of the year, Mind. So it’s all for a great cause! Find out more about Mind and mental health here.

We hope to see you in Cardiff on the 4th of October — you can view the evening's agenda and buy tickets here.
