M&CO Legal is pleased to announce the appointment of Tonderai Nyandoro as Legal Director -International Arbitration, further strengthening the firm’s expertise in high-value cross-borderdisputes across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
A former Legal Director at Clyde & Co, Tonderai is a highly regarded disputes practitionerwhose practice is focused on the most complex international commercial matters. He hasextensive experience across international arbitration, complex commercial litigation andproceedings in support of arbitration, having appeared before the High Court of England &Wales, the DIFC Courts and the ADGM Courts. He is an English-qualified lawyer, bringingdeep common law expertise to the firm’s international disputes offering. His practice has aparticular focus on:
• cross-border disputes with a multi-jurisdictional dimension;
• Anglophone Africa-related disputes;
• jurisdictional challenges and questions of forum; and
• the coordination and management of parallel proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.
He has acted and advised for clients in more than 40 international arbitration and litigationproceedings over the last 14 years under leading rules including DIAC, ICC, ICSID, LCIA,SIAC, CPR, and UNCITRAL, with matters seated across both common law and civil lawjurisdictions.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a registered arbitrator with the DubaiInternational Arbitration Centre, Mr. Nyandoro is admitted as a Solicitor of England & Walesand is registered to practice before the DIFC and ADGM Courts. He holds an LL.M. with Meritin International Arbitration from the School of International Arbitration at Queen Mary,University of London, and has been recognized for his academic excellence with the Universityof Hertfordshire Chancellor’s Prize.

Throughout his career, Mr. Nyandoro has advised African governments and institutions oninvestment treaty protection and dispute resolution, including delivering training programs forthe Ghana Ministry of Energy and the Ethiopian Investment Commission. He has successfullydirected portfolios exceeding USD 500 million and acted on both claimant and respondent sidesin high-stakes disputes.
