Ken McLean is a Chartered Engineer with more than 35 years of building services (MEP) engineering experience.
Appointed as a technical expert witness in over twenty cases, Ken has given oral evidence, participated in concurrent evidence sessions (hot tubbing), and been cross-examined eight times in international arbitration proceedings. He has also presented evidence in adjudication proceedings. He has provided expert evidence on liability, design responsibility, client scope, performance issues, risk, professional responsibility, design duties, contractor duties, systems failures, and workmanship, and has contributed to the assessment of delay factors and level of effort.
Ken’s MEP engineering experience ranges from on-site roles to senior management, covering all aspects of MEP design, management, planning, installation monitoring, supervision, testing and commissioning, troubleshooting, reporting, and advising. His expert appointments have involved major infrastructure, transportation, oil and gas, data centres, healthcare, and mixed-use development disputes in Australia, Canada, and the UK, as well as in the Middle East and CIS countries.
