Dr Fabien Roques is an Executive Vice President with Compass Lexecon where he leads the EMEA energy practice. He has over 20 years of experience as an economist, with substantial expertise in arbitrations, disputes, and state aid and competition assignments.
Dr Roques has worked in a range of industries and infrastructure sectors, including electricity and gas utilities, highways, payment systems, oil and gas majors, ports, railways, shipping, telecoms, and water utilities. He as a particularly deep expertise of the commercial, contractual and regulatory issues in the energy industry, and has published extensively on electricity, gas, oil, and carbon markets.
Dr Roques has given expert testimony before the competition and regulatory authorities and courts of many EU member states. He also has vast experience as a party- and tribunal- appointed expert in civil court disputes and international arbitration proceedings before courts and tribunals.
