Donna Short

Donna Short is a highly experienced intellectual property partner and leader of the trademark practice at Addisons. Donna’s work with clients involves the entire IP life cycle – from the initial innovation stage, IP protection and commercialisation, and enforcement of rights. Areas of expertise include trademarks, copyright, domain names, designs, privacy and data protection, and technology issues.

Donna’s practice covers contentious and non-contentious IP matters, and she assists clients in enforcing their rights by acting in opposition proceedings before IP Australia and in Federal Court proceedings. On the commercial side, she helps clients to identify and protect their IP, and to license and commercialise it.

Donna has extensive experience in the area of trademarks, and her expertise includes major rebranding projects; managing global trademark portfolios, including enforcement of trademark rights in Australia and overseas; and licensing arrangements.

Donna’s expertise in the area of IP is well recognised in Australia and internationally. Donna has been recognised in Chambers, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Who’s Who Legal and World Trademark Review.
