Sumeet Kachwaha is the founding partner of New Delhi based dispute resolution law firm, Kachwaha & Partners. He has around 46 years’ standing in the profession.
Through his career, Sumeet has been involved in high stake cross border disputes. He has also served as a sole arbitrator in several disputes.
Sumeet has some of the top rankings from law directories in dispute resolution. He continues to be ranked in Band 1 in the arbitration section of Chambers Asia-Pacific since 2009. He figures as a “leading individual” in The Legal 500: Asia Pacific for dispute resolution. He also ranks in IBLJ’s “A List” of “India’s Top lawyers”.
Sumeet has been called upon to serve as amicus curiae to the High Court of Delhi in several matters, including the US$ 2 Billion Vodafone- India bilateral investment treaty dispute arbitration. Mr Kachwaha’s assistance as amicus curiae was generously acknowledged by the High Court in its decision of 7 May 2018.
He served a three-year term as chair of the dispute resolution and arbitration section of the IPBA and a two-year term as co-chair in a subcommittee of the international construction project (ICP) committee of the IBA.
