Montserrat has a Master of Law degree from the University of Cambridge and specialises in international dispute resolution. Her practice in Von Wobeser y Sierra, where she is a partner, focuses on international commercial and investment arbitration.
Montserrat has participated in more than 60 international arbitration proceedings, either as counsel, arbitrator or secretary, under the ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, LCIA, PCA and CAM rules. She has broad experience applying both regional and public international law, in a variety of disputes, most of which involve public works contracts, energy, and oil and gas.
As a Mexican-qualified lawyer, she has successfully represented clients in administrative and constitutional proceedings before Mexican courts, including proceedings in support of arbitration and provisional measures.
Her work is truly international, having worked in Paris at one of the most recognised international arbitration and public law practices worldwide. Her academic record is outstanding, having obtained a law degree (with honours) from the Universidad Iberoamericana; a diploma in international commercial arbitration (first in class) from the ICC and Escuela Libre de Derecho; and an LLM from Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge.
