Christoph Brunner has acted as counsel, presiding arbitrator, sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and legal expert in more than 130 arbitration proceedings. His range of expertise covers, in particular, M&A and joint ventures (including shareholders’ agreements and post-M&A disputes), construction and infrastructure projects, sales, distribution and agency, in various industries such as construction, energy, high-tech goods, pharmaceuticals and life sciences and finance. He has acted as arbitrator under the substantive laws of Switzerland, England, France, Germany, Sweden, the UAE, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, California (among others) and the CISG, under various institutional rules and ad hoc rules.
Christoph Brunner is the founding partner of Brunner Arbitration LLC and thus entirely independent. He was previously a partner at Peter & Kim and has been practicing international commercial arbitration for more than 25 years at major Swiss firms. He is a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.
Christoph is a titular professor of law at the University of Bern, regularly speaks at national and international conferences and has published several books and numerous articles on commercial law and international arbitration. He is fluent in English, German and French.
