Thomas Richter

I am a lawyer specializing in white collar criminal defence law with more than 15 years of successful legal practice. I am convinced that personal commitment with a meticulous approach, hard work and courage are the basis for success in criminal law just as much as in any other field. With this certainty, I take care of each and every matter.

I have a wealth of experience in investigations relating to financial markets, and I regularly defend clients against allegations of market manipulation, insider trading, money laundering and tax evasion. I am experienced in bankruptcy and accounting matters, and I have also provided effective defence in some highly complex matters of corruption and environmental crime. I regularly provide witness assistance during internal investigations, both national and international. Apart from representing individuals, I act on behalf of companies in criminal proceedings and I also provide legal advice on compliance matters.

Before establishing R I C H T E R in Frankfurt, I was a partner at a distinguished criminal law boutique firm. My legal career began at the commercial law firm Hengeler Mueller. I gained international professional experience during a six-month secondment at the law firm Roschier in Helsinki and during my legal traineeship at Shearman & Sterling in New York.
