Jim Perry is a graduate of the Case Western Reserve University School of Law and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar (1985). Jim also has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Based in Paris since 1988, Jim works mainly as an arbitrator and dispute board member, but also as counsel, specializing in the construction industry. Jim has served on numerous ICC, DIAC, ADCCAC, CEPANI and ad hoc arbitration tribunals and dispute boards all over the world, including in Panama, Peru and Guatemala, Central Europe, Central Asia, Africa, SE Asia, Australasia and the Middle East. His project experience includes; dams, bridges, ports, marine, airports, roads, water, hydro and thermal power, oil and gas, rail, and urban construction. Jim is member of the FIDIC president’s list of dispute board adjudicators and is a past-president of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation.
Jim is a founding partner of PS Consulting in Paris and of the Leading Construction Lawyers International Alliance with French firm Advant Altana, US firm Peckar & Abramson and German firm Breyer Rechtsanwälte. While Jim is a common law lawyer, he has spent much of his career working in civil law jurisdictions.
