Gustavo is the founding partner of Laborde Law, a Paris-based law firm entirely focused on international arbitration.
With over 15 years of professional experience in New York, Geneva and Paris, Gustavo has extensive experience in both investment and commercial arbitration. Before founding Laborde Law, he worked for over a decade for world-leading law firms and arbitrators in the United States, Switzerland and France.
Gustavo acts as both counsel and arbitrator.
As counsel, he has represented states, state-owned entities and private companies before international tribunals. He currently represents Eastern European States and a Central American State in UNCITRAL and ICSID arbitrations. He also advises private and institutional investors on investment planning and protection.
As arbitrator, Gustavo has been appointed by leading arbitral institutions, including the ICC. For more than 10 years, he learned the craft by serving as tribunal assistant for some of the world’s foremost arbitrators (“star” arbitrators in Switzerland; “star” arbitrator in France; KC from a leading barrister's chambers).
