Florian Haugeneder is a co-founding partner at KNOETZL and co-head of the International Arbitration Practice, with more than 20 years’ extensive experience as counsel and arbitrator under the rules of the major arbitral institutions, including the DIA, DIS, ICC, ICSID, KCAB, LCIA, SCC and VIAC, as well as in international and domestic ad-hoc arbitrations. He has successfully represented major clients in some of the largest and most complex disputes in the CEE and SEE regions. A special focus of his practice involves international law on the protection of foreign investments under bilateral and multilateral investment protection treaties.
Florian engages in dispute resolution involving engineering and construction, energy, banking and finance, the automotive sector and high-profile sales disputes. His experience includes international gas transportation and storage, numerous M&A projects, thermal, hydro and wind power plants, including the largest hydro power plant in Austria, the construction and operation of a major fibre-optic cable infrastructure, a large IT outsourcing project, road and rail construction and rehabilitation, and a water and sewer system. Florian has advised on a large number of FIDIC contracts. He currently advises on multi-billion claims in the energy sector.
