Tim Rauschning is a partner in Luther’s Complex Disputes team and energy industry group. He has 10 years of experience in investment arbitrations, disputes in the energy and infrastructure sector as well as general commercial and corporate arbitrations. Tim is an adept manager of complex disputes and versed on damage issues. His regional focus is on Latin America. He also sits as arbitrator in domestic and international disputes, including construction arbitrations. He is recognised by Legal500, “Best Lawyers in Germany” and Expert Guides’ “Rising Stars”.
Tim is a co-founder of the German chapter of the Energy-related Arbitration Practitioners (ENERAP), co-head of the initiative “Dispute Resolution Hamburg” and former Regional Co-Chair of the DIS40. He regularly speaks and publishes on arbitration and investment law topics and was, inter alia, a lecturer in the master programme “International Politics & International Law” at Kiel University. In 2017 he was seconded to the arbitration department of a major Brazilian law firm in São Paulo/Brazil.
He studied law in Germany and France and completed his legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg, with postings in the litigation and arbitration department of a major international law firm, at the United Nations’ Office of Legal Affairs, and the German Mission to the United Nations in New York.
