Sebastian Wuschka practices as of counsel with Luther’s Complex Disputes team in Hamburg, Germany, focusing on commercial and investment arbitration as well as public international law. He has assisted both corporate investors and state-owned enterprises with their investment disputes and is particularly experienced in intra-EU investment matters and in the energy sector. Notably, he has been part of the counsel teams representing the investors in Vattenfall AB et al. v. Germany (ICSID Case No. ARB/12/12), E.ON SE et al. v. Spain (ICSID Case No. ARB/15/35) and RWE AG et al. v. The Netherlands (ICSID Case No. ARB/21/4).
In addition, Sebastian regularly represents clients in commercial arbitrations under the arbitration rules of e.g. the ICC and DIS as well as in arbitration-related proceedings before the German courts. Apart from his counsel work, he also accepts appointments as arbitrator.
Next to his practice, Sebastian is an active member of various arbitration association. He presently serves as a co-chair of DIS40, the under-40 group of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS), as well as a member of the steering committee of Young EFILA, the below-40 group of the European Federation for Investment Law and Arbitration (EFILA).
