Sean G Sorensen

Sean is the Managing Partner of Walker Sorensen LLP. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at one of Canada’s national law firms. Walker Sorensen is located in Toronto, Ontario, and is Canada's premier insurance regulatory and transactional boutique law firm.

Sean regularly acts for insurers, reinsurers, agents, brokers, managing general agents, third party administrators and other stakeholders, providing insurance regulatory, corporate governance, transactional and general corporate commercial advice. He assists insurers and group sponsors with negotiating and establishing the terms of sponsored affinity insurance programs and advises insurers and intermediaries on agent/broker agreements.

Other examples of recent work include acting for the vendors in a transaction involving the sale of a national managing general agent to a large Canadian financial institution and acting for insurers in connection with several assumption reinsurance transactions. He has also assisted a number of clients that have established insurance company subsidiaries or branch offices in Canada.

Sean regularly deals with Canadian insurance regulators on behalf of clients, including the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) and other provincial and territorial insurance regulators.
