In his roles at the USPTO, Joe briefed and argued numerous appeals of patent and trademark decisions before the Federal Circuit, oversaw the management of the USPTO and its 13,000 employees, and advised the U.S. Solicitor General’s Office in key IP cases before the Supreme Court.

Earl Nied is the founder of Veracity IP Consulting LLC, which offers strategic planning assistance to clients on complex intellectual property issues. Before founding Veracity IP, Earl was an Intel Corporation US director of IP policy and global director of intellectual property rights matters relating to standards. During his 40+ year tenure at Intel, Earl managed engineering and legal teams and held a director position in Intel’s policy and regulatory affairs group.
