New legislation imposing new fiduciary standards on unregistered investment advisers is set for approval by House Committee

The House Financial Services Committee held a markup session and moved closer to approval of a new legislation that would impose a fiduciary standard of care on broker-dealers, investment advisers and any other provider of investment advice regardless of whether these entities are registered under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
