Supreme Court of Canada clarifies Crown’s fiduciary obligation

In the recent decision Ermineskin Indian Band and Nation v. Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed allegations that the Crown’s fiduciary duty included a duty to invest the royalties of Aboriginal bands.
