Labour MP for Bristol East, Kerry McCarthy, has introduced a new Bill into Parliament, calling for a duty upon food retailers and manufacturers to donate their food surplus to homeless charities, thus avoiding the “scandalous” amount of edible and healthy food that currently goes to waste currently estimated at as much as 50 across Europe.
