If proposals of agency Inspectors General (IGs) are adopted by Congress, IGs could have expanded subpoena authority to compel contractor or subcontractor employees to appear for interviews in investigations related to any federal contract.

On November 23, 2007, the Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council (Councils) issued a final rule effective on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2007, amending the FAR to address requirements for a contractor code of business ethics and conduct as well as requirements for display of agency Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Fraud Hotline posters.
