(US) and OAO Lukoil Holdings (Russia), partners in Karachaganak Petroleum Operating BV (“KPO”), a collective formed to tap oil and natural gas deposits in the Karachaganak field near Aksai City, Kazakhstan, are reported to be investigating allegations that KPO, along with an arm of DHL that handles shipments for KPO, have made improper payments to Kazakh customs officials.
