The Act received Royal Assent on 2 September 2014 and amends the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act 2008 (Vic) by increasing access to information in certain circumstances; for example, providing relevant parties access to information in relation to treatment procedures using gametes donated before July 1988.  The principal Act contains a new section 56A, enabling the Registrar to access information received by the Public Record Office from Prince Henry’s Institute of Medical Research and to disclose that information to applicants seeking donor information under section 56.
