Treasury has published a report of the Financial Services Competitiveness Group, of which the Chancellor is a co-chair. The report looks at the changing face of financial services in the UK and makes recommendations for the way ahead. It says:

  • there must be clear direction for the UK international financial services industry both in terms of the wider UK economy and in working with other countries; and
  • work is needed to reaffirm the UK's reputation for competence, reliability and trustworthiness.

It looks at the ways in which the country can deliver on these recommendations.
