An estimated 3.3 billion mobile phones are in existence which cover one half of the world’s population, says Informa Telecoms and Media, a research group…The first commercial mobile network began in 1981 and it took 19 years - - until 2000 - - for people to connect to each other around the globe…Informa predicts that by 2009, 60% of the world’s population will be holding phones to their ears and in 2012, 66% will be having conversations…While telephone talk will increase, real life talking-to-each-other will decrease, because 66% of us will be frantically pushing buttons hoping for an important call…Think how much air all this will take!
