The Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/246) (TUPE) is the UK employment legislation that governs the transfer of an undertaking, or part of one, to another. TUPE is intended to protect the rights of employees in a business transfer by transferring them with the business so that the new owner is bound by the same terms and conditions that the employees enjoyed before the transfer
