The Government has confirmed that it is taking action following its review of the level, frequency and cost of trade union facility time in the Civil Service. The changes include reducing facility time to no more than 50% of a civil servant's job, unless there are exceptional circumstances, phasing out civil servants working full time on union work and introducing more rigorous monitoring and reporting.
