LSE responds on regulatory structure: LSE has responded to Treasury's consultation on the UK regulatory structure. Its main comments include:
- that the consumer and markets divisions within the CPMA must be operationally distinct and separately run, and that the UK Listing Authority should be within the CPMA (it also comments the organisation should be called simply the "Markets and Conduct Authority");
- the recognised bodies regime should stay separate from the regime for authorised firms;
- the CPMA must speak for primary and secondary markets as the UK's representative on European Sales and Marketing Association; and
- Treasury must commit to full, clear consultation on its plans.
