The Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2009 have been laid before Parliament.
The Amendment Regulations 2009 make changes to the new Local Government Pension Scheme that came into existence on 1 April 2009 and replaced the Local Government Pension Scheme 1997.
Broadly the Amendment Regulations 2009 put in place more detailed requirements, than is required under current legislation, for the Secretary of State to publish guidance as to the manner in which the cost of the Local Government Pension Scheme will be met.
The Amendment Regulations 2009 will come into force on 15 May 2009 but have retrospective effect from 1 April 2009.
