In late December 2013, the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) published guidance on systematic risk management plans (which all global systematically important insurers (GSIIs) must put in place).

The key aim of the publication is to offer guidance to group wide supervisors of GSIIs and, amongst other matters, sets out the key elements which should be contained in the plans. The IAIS emphasised that such plans are a useful tool for a GSII in demonstrating how it will meet its regulatory requirements.
