On August 3, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) released her principles for credit card reform in advance of legislation she hopes to introduce in September. These principles are the product of an earlier roundtable discussion held with credit card issuers, consumer groups, as well as House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank (D-MA) and Congressman Mike Castle (R-DE). The Congresswoman has held two Subcommittee hearings already this year and looks to make it a priority in the fall. A copy of the principles is available at http://maloney.house.gov/documents/financial/consumer/MaloneyCreditCardPrinciples.pdf
