The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs has released its long-awaited updated regulations on the employment of veterans and individuals with disabilities under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act. These are game-changing regulations with significant implications for federal contractors. These regulations will increase contractors’ recordkeeping obligations and will require changes to applicant-tracking and human resources information systems.

The regulations will be effective 180 days after formal publication in the Federal Register, which OFCCP anticipates will occur “shortly.”
