We know it really…. we’re all at risk of being hacked. Armed robbery is on the decline but theft of data and information is on the increase. The people that hacked into the accounts of Barclays didn’t use a gun, they used IT as their weapon.

All large organisations have IT teams or contractors. So aren’t we all safe? Apparently not.

Most IT contractors are brought in to create and maintain platforms. They have some security knowledge but they’re not the experts in testing and keeping the platforms secure.

Apparently, we all need independent audits every so often - to go “phishing” and “ethically” test whether we can be hacked. If we don’t do that, you can guarantee someone else will be “testing” the systems for us…. And there’s no telling what they’ll do with the information they obtain.

It’s the fear of the unknown that’s the worry…….
