ESMA consults on EMIR measures: ESMA has issued two papers on draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) it has to develop under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR):

  • for the central clearing of interest rate swaps (IRS). ESMA proposes four classes of IRS, each denominated in specified currencies, to be subject to central clearing; and
  • for clearing of foreign-exchange non-deliverable forwards.

ESMA publishes remuneration compliance information: ESMA has published a table showing the notifications it has received from national regulators on whether they comply or intend to comply with its guidelines on remuneration policies and practices under the current Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID). Only Germany has provided a qualified response, saying it has excluded any remuneration agreed within the scope of collective agreements. (Source: ESMA Publishes Remuneration Compliance Information)
