The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has published a consultative document on Principles for home-host supervisory cooperation and allocation mechanisms in the context of Advanced Measurement Approaches (AMA). The consultative document sets out principles related to two topics in the implementation of AMA for operational risk under Basel II. The first set of principles is intended to supplement the paper on Home-host information sharing for effective Basel II implementation as the principles focus specifically on supervisory cooperation in the context of banks implementing an AMA. The second set of principles supplements the paper on Principles for the home-host recognition of AMA operational risk capital and specifically addresses allocation mechanisms developed as part of a hybrid AMA. Comments are requested by 18 April 2007.
