On July 14th, Canada announced that it was placing visa requirements on Czech citizens travelling to Canada. Entry visa requirements had been lifted on Czech citizens in October 2007. However, citing a dramatic increase in refugee claims from Czech nationals, Canada has decided to re-impose entry visa requirements.

Therefore, before travelling to Canada, Czech nationals will need to apply for and obtain a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) from a Canadian Visa office. Currently, the Canadian Embassy in Vienna, Austria deals with Czech applicants.
