The National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”) has issued a final rule requiring most privatesector employers to notify employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act (“NLRA”) by posting a Notice. The Notice includes information about employees’ rights under the NLRA, including employees’ rights to join a union, bargain collectively, discuss wages and benefits, and to strike and picket. The Notice also provides examples of unlawful employer and union conduct, as well as information on how to contact the NLRB. The new posting requirement goes into effect January 31, 2012.
Copies of the notice are available on the NLRB website, which may be printed on either a single 11-by-17-inch paper or two 8-by-11-inch papers taped together. The NLRB also will provide printed copies of the poster upon request, at no charge.
