On 7 October 2008, the Renewable Fuels Agency (RFA) published its first interim quarterly report on the use of biofuels in the UK. The RFA administers the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO), which imposes obligations on those who refine, import and supply hydrocarbon oil in the UK. The report shows that suppliers are generally in line to meet RTFO targets and 97% of biofuel from UK feedstock met required sustainability standards (in contrast to some other feedstocks).
