Employers are reminded that the new compensation limits on tribunal awards and other payments under employment legislation have been in force since 1 February 2009. The key changes are that:

  • the limit on a week's pay has increased from £330 to £350;
  • the maximum basic award and the maximum amount of the statutory redundancy payment, therefore, has increased from £9,900 to £10,500; and
  • the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal has increased from £63,000 to £66,200.
