Lord Justice Stephen Richards has been appointed Deputy Head of Civil Justice, replacing Lord Justice Moore-Bick on 1 January 2013. He will serve a three year term and will undertake a crucial role in the implementation of the Jackson reforms. He will also have an important role within the Civil Procedure Rule Committee. Richards has served as a Lord Justice of Appeal since 2005, which followed an eight year stint as High Court Judge. He first became a bencher in 1992 where he acted as a First Junior Treasury Council.
