FOS publishes annual review: The FOS annual review highlights:

  • a record number of new cases, with a rise yet again in the percentage of cases relating to payment protection insurance (PPI), which accounted for 78% of new cases;
  • an increase in complaints about packaged bank accounts but fewer complaints about credit cards;
  • more cases resolved than ever before, with consumers being awarded compensation in over half the cases; and
  • resolution of nearly half of all complaints excluding PPI complaints within three months of inception.
