The newly-created U.S. Passport Card joins the list of documents acceptable for I-9 employment eligibility verification and can be accepted by employers in conjunction with the federal government’s E-Verify program. The new card, while not usable for international air travel purposes, is considered a valid List “A” document that can serve as both identity and work authorization proof for Form I-9 purposes.
