FSB, with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), has published a report on consumer finance protection with particular focus on credit. The report covers most areas of consumer credit, including mortgages, credit cards, and secured and unsecured loans. It recommends an international association of regulators to take the lead on global consumer protection. It also says that there could be clearer mandates, accountability and powers for authorities and that supervisory tools should allow good supervision and ensure consumers get appropriate information.
