The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will rise from £63,000 to £66,200 where the dismissal occurs on or after 1 February 2009. The recently published Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2008 increases other statutory minimum and maximum figures, including the maximum amount of a week’s pay for the purposes of calculating a statutory redundancy payment and basic award for unfair dismissal, which rises from £330 a week to £350.
