Today, Treasury released its eighth Tranche Report to Congress as required by Section 105(b) of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (EESA). The Tranche Report covers the period May 28, 2009, through September 30, 2009, and was triggered when Treasury reached a commitment of $450 billion under EESA. Since the release of its seventh Tranche Report to Congress on June 3, 2009, Treasury has committed an additional $49.88 billion under the Capital Purchase Program, Automotive Industry Finance Program, Home Affordable Modification Program and Legacy Securities Public-Private Investment Partnership. Treasury’s total funding obligations for all programs established under EESA totaled $454.25 billion as of September 30, 2009. Treasury will release the next Tranche Report when total commitments have reached $500 billion.
