The ACMA has issued a formal warning to Telco Blue, a telecommunication provider, for making telemarketing calls to numbers on the Do Not Call Register. The calls were made through a third party call centre and the ACMA indicated that it continues to hold telecommunications providers responsible for breaches of the Do Not Call rules by contractors. The ACMA also noted the problematic risk of non-compliance associated with business models adopted by telecommunications providers that create incentives for third party call centres to achieve sales.
