Compensation for various tribunal awards will increase from 1 February 2008. This means that for most dismissals after that date the new rates will apply.

The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal increases from £60,600 to £63,000.

The maximum limit on a week’s pay (relevant to the basic award and statutory redundancy payments) increases from £310 to £330.

The minimum basic award for dismissals connected with trade union membership or activities, health and safety duties or acting as an employee representative increases from £4,200 to £4,400.
