The NZCC has entered into a co-operation agreement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) as part of a wider framework of co-operation agreements which allow the NZCC to work together with other countries that have comparable competition and consumer protection laws. The agreement allows the regulators to assist each other and share information. The arrangement is intended to allow the ACCC and the Commerce Commission to work together more effectively and to more easily tackle trans-Tasman competition, consumer and telecommunications issues.
