The ESAs have published their joint work programme for next year. Their Joint Committee will:

  • continue to prioritise consumer protection, including work on PRIPs, complaints handling, self-placement, cross-selling and commercial comparison websites and will carry out cross-sectoral risk analysis;
  • carry on the regulatory work already under way in key areas such as financial conglomerates, anti-money laundering, the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), benchmark setting processes and credit rating agencies; and
  • monitor legislative and regulatory developments in 2014 at the European and international level, and ensure appropriate follow-up.
